NenaandJose’sreactionstothatturmoiliscomplex–steepedalltheirlivesinNegrosmythology,theygraduallyequatepresent-dayrebelsandcorruptarmyofficerswiththedemonsandmonstersoftheiryouth.Theyreplyinanumberofways,eachaccordingtohisorhernature:throughpoliticalprotest,civilactivism,armedrebellion,eventhecompositionandrecitationofsome(verybeautiful)Filipinopoetry.
