Whyaretheseguyspopstars?Ohyeah,becausewhowantstoseeamovieaboutincestunlessthestarsareattractive?Itshouldbecentraltotheircharacters,butitseemsonlytobeanexcuseforHarrytohavesomesortofAStarisBornangstandfortheaudiencetoseeprettyfaces.
MaxisinfatuatedwithHarry,thenHarryisinfatuatedwithMax,bothsleepwiththeother'spastloves,vaguehintsaregivenabouttheirmessedupfamilyandabsolutelyNOTHINGofsignificanceaboutlove,humannature,lust,relationships,oranythingelseiseverrevealed.
Nothelpingmattersisthecurserydevelopmentofallothercharacters.Josiah,RoxanneandJordanarealltreatedlikepiecesofthesettobemovedaroundattheneedofthedirector.Nonehasanydepth,motivationsorinterestingqualitiesbeyondtheirusefulnessasbackgroundforHarryandMax.Eventheboys'motherisreducedtotwominutesofmuddledscreentimebitchiness.Nikki,forme,wastheonlyinterestingcharacterhere,butthereasonsforherchoicesareneverexploredandintheendshewindsupasflatasalltheothers.
